Udasi means missionary travels/tours. Guru Nanak Dev Ji took 4, some say 5, udasis, and He spread the message of love, acceptance, equality, and honest living. We, Milan and I have collaborated to create this activity for todays Gurpurab countdown, Day 9.
There are maps in todays activities which attempt to recreate the paths of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Udasis. You can get your child to follow with stickers, or with a string. With each Udasi there is an associated print out - a saakhi or explanation. Some pdfs have links to other sites for further information. By no means is the information here exhaustive, Guru Nanak Dev Ji's life history is far more vast than what we are able to describe.
