Guru Nanak Dev Ji had a beautiful message - one of unity and peace. Something, I believe, is much needed in today's world, where everyone is out for themselves and there is a lot of hate. I think it is important that we teach our kids this message. That means that we too also see others as equals and treat them as such.
For me, this means to cut out the sexism, casteism, colourism etc in society. Far too often, we find that these prejudices creep up in our conversations and minds. We have been given a beautiful gift by Guru ji - the freedom to be equal. Yet, we choose to regress back to a state of oppression and falsehood. Let's grow beyond that this Gurpurab. Let's embody His message so we can build a better world together.
